Gayle is an all-around athlete and business professional. From delegate to Youth Facilitator, we now welcome her as the Social Impact Coordinator of Motivate Canada. She is also the Founder/ Production Artist of “RSN. Customs” aka Reason, where she produces custom designs for fashion and stationery, in the Toronto community. Gayle is currently taking her BA Honours in Political Science and Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management at York University. During her time at York, she has been awarded with top written and multi-media presentation in Social Policy, and Female Athlete of the Year in 2019.As a former Sports Instructor and Energizer Coach, Gayle has an ongoing involvement with sports throughout her life and is very passionate in helping youth stay active and bringing the importance of physical activity and human connection in our day to day lives. You are likely to find her in the gym or ball court ready to play against anyone. Her goal is to become a Lawyer and continue to inspire youth all around the world through Sports Leadership.
Based in Cochrane, Alberta, Meaghan Westlake has been a dedicated member of the Motivate Canada family since 2014. Starting her journey in the Physical Female Literacy Program and ACTIVATE, she went from youth delegate to volunteer, ultimately hosting multiple ViaYOUTH Summits. In 2020, Meaghan joined the team as a staff member and now leads as the Social Impact Manager with a focus on social media, outreach and community development.
Motivate Canada has transformed her life, opening doors to new opportunities and deepening her passion for making a positive difference in her community. Outside of work, Meaghan enjoys running marathons, hiking in the mountains, ice climbing, and pursuing adventures in the great outdoors.
Leland got involved with Motivate Canada as a GEN7 Messenger in 2012 and has worked with communities in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Leland earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Sociology, minoring in Indigenous Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration in Community Economic Development at Cape Breton University. Leland worked in the Canadian Armed Forces reserves from 2002 to 2020, and is an advocate of youth empowerment; passionate about how we can surpass the limitations of our personal fears and doubts by connecting with others, sharing our experiences and offering mutual support to one another in ongoing partnerships. While residing in Ottawa, Ontario, Leland has strong connections to his family and friends in British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Corey Robinson is deeply committed to people and their stories. For over 25 years, he has focused on fostering connections through sport, community, and the belief that effective communication, relationship-building, and a heart for service are key to a fulfilling life. With a background in working with troubled youth in secure treatment facilities, Corey has developed unique methods for connecting and forming meaningful relationships. As a former high-performance athlete and coach for Canada’s National Wrestling Team, he has been a dedicated leader with Motivate Canada, guiding its Esteem Team program for over two decades.
Corey has had the privilege of working with hundreds of Olympic and professional athletes, helping them shape their personal stories and set goals to inspire communities across Canada. His passion for intentional storytelling that leads to action has earned him invitations from national organizations, where he helps individuals communicate their messages and serve their communities. Through his work with Sport Canada, the Pan Am Games Association, OSEG, and in his current role at Social Impact Specialist with Motivate Canada’s ViaYouthPro programs, Corey’s approach to relationship-building remains impactful.
When not working in youth development, Corey can be found coaching at CrossFit Basinview in Halifax, helping people achieve their physical and mental health goals. Alongside his wife Kate, to whom he’s been married for over 27 years, Corey continues to give back through community outreach initiatives, always committed to leading people into their inherent gifts so that they may know that their gifts are needed to impact the needs of their community.
